Sacrococcygeal teratoma was reported first by French obsterician, Ph. Peu at the end of the seventeenth centuery in the literature. This is one of the most common solid tumor with Wilms' tumor and neuroblastoma in childhood. Incidence rate is in

40,000 live births and females are affected four times more than males. Although several hypothesis have been postulate, the exact origin of sacrococcygeal teratoma is still unknown. It may be arise from the totipotential cell of Hensen's node.
The
tumor should be removed surgically as early as possible because of possibility to progress malignancy with time.
